Carol Maund Site Gallery The Site Gallery relocated to the Cultural Industries Quarter in 1992 when it was still known as the "Untitled" Gallery. Between then and 1997 the technology for photography moved very rapidly. The Gallery's digital darkroom had been open for nearly a year, and Lottery funding for further extensions to its facilities had just been approved by the Arts Council. A number of events and short festivals were organised, leading up to the Site Gallery's participation in the 1998 UK Year of Photography and Electronic Image. In the video clip, Site manager Carol Maund describes how the work of New York artists is made available to Sheffield school-children via the Internet. The children could interact with what they saw on-line and with their contributions being incorporated in the evolving artwork. | |||||||||||||||
