Networking Electronically

David Jennings Associates do project management and consultancy in applications of technologies to cultural industries, group working and flexible learning. David is seen here in his office in the Workstation.

David Jennings was manager and main architect of the NEO Project. NEO stands for Networking Electronically, and plays on the alternative meanings of <networking>. In the video clip, David outlines the importance of collaborations between enterprises as a route to developing creative on-line services.

In 1997 David Jennings Associates, along with fellow NEO partner Fretwell-Downing, began a collaboration that brought together Sheffield's Cultural Industries Quarter with like-minded organisations in Dublin's Temple Bar cultural quarter, Freiburg, and Manchester's Northern Quarter. Despite the international flavour, the name given to this collaborative project - Disco 2000 - gave away that it was Made in Sheffield.
